The Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson are launching a joint tour across North America in 2015, playing in support of their most recent offerings, Monuments to an Elegy and The Pale Emperor
Led by Billy Corgan, The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the 90s' most influential acts, riding the wave of grunge alongside Nirvana and Hole in the early part of the decade, before delving into darker electronic territories with the albums Adore and Machina. Manson trod a more menacing path, with his industrial metal sound on tracks like The Beautiful People and Gothic stage persona turning him into a lightning rod of controversy and parental outrage.
Corgan and Manson haven't always been such close friends. Until last year the two hadn't spoken for 15 years, due to, allegedly, Manson firing a bald joke Corgan's way. They buried the hatchet in 2014 though with a series of appearances together in Europe, during which they duetted on Ava Adore, Eye and Beautiful People.
