Set in Sixties England, grifter Francis Henshall finds himself canned from his skiffle band and is in desperate need of cash. So he becomes minder to a young gangster Roscoe Crabbe - who actually turns out to be his sister Rachel in disguise. For Roscoe is dead, having been killed by Rachel's boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Spotting the opportunity to get an extra meal ticket, Francis offers his services to Stanley – but has to keep his two bosses apart from each other, which turns out to be nearly impossible when they all convene on a hotel in Brighton. Stanley must serve each boss separately, yet be on call for the other, with conflicting and farcical results. Will Francis succeed in working for two rivals? Or will it eventually blow up in his face?
